Consumers 'feeling the pinch' are buying Christmas gifts with loyalty points

Consumers are cutting back on what they buy this festive season and are reportedly using loyalty points and coupons to get through this Christmas.

Consumer journalist Wendy Knowler on Thursday said that loyalty programmes are useful at this time of the year and a lot more beneficial to consumers.

Many consumers rely on loyalty schemes to make it financially - it influences buying choices quite significantly.

If you can get loyalty point that are open-ended, they will be used for basic stuff that you might of when things weren't quite as tough.
