Banking Association SA welcomes Gordhan's re-appointment

President Jacob Zuma's re-shuffling of the fiance portfolio has been met with mixed reactions in recent days.

The Banking Association South Africa has welcomed the latest appointment of Pravin Gordhan as the Finance Minister.

Managing director, CAS Covadia on Monday said that Gordhan has an impeccable record, international credibility and is known to the markets.

It is important to have someone with experience, who is recognised by the markets and has proven their capabilities. We believe it will instill confidence in the markets.

Meanwhile, David Shapiro said market reaction has been extremely volatile, adding that it may take a few days to identify a trend.
