Over 200 people arrested for driving under the influence, so far - JMPD

JMPD spokesperson, Edna Mamonyane spoke to Africa Melane this morning on the current state of traffic offenses during the festive season, as well as the state of the JMPD strike.

Mamonyane said that over 25 people arrested for high speed and over 200 people were arrested for driving under the influence, with some areas unconfirmed so far in Gauteng this festive season.

Mamonyane also spoke about renewing of vehicle licenses and where people can do that.

In Johannesburg, we have provincial stations that you can go to to to get your disc - for instance in Kliptown, near Maponya Mall. Some people had enforcement orders, which meant your disc wouldn't be released without first paying.

Edna Mamonyane, JMPD spokesperson
