Aki Anastasiou remembers the legendary Ian Crewe

Veteran EWN reporter, Ian Crewe has passed on at the age of 75 on the 30th December 2015.

Ian has been remembered by friends and colleagues as a legend in the broadcasting industry, who trained many renowned journalists.

Aki Anastasiou chats to Africa Melane to pay tribute to a colleague and friend, as well as share his memories.

He was one of my founding mentors in radio, he taught me so much about radio. One of the most knowledgeable people I've ever known.

When you first met Ian, he was kind of scary. He wasn't one of those easily-approachable people. But once you get on his side, he'll take you under his wings and share every knowledge he has with you. He wouldn't settle for second best and that's what made him such a brilliant broadcaster. He would strive for excellence.

He was an extra-ordinary man and he will be missed.
