The Rand reached a seven-year low of R17.99 to the US dollar on Sunday. This decline has been attributed to mostly the Chinese economic slow-down.
Meanwhile, President Jacob Zuma’s in a series of interviews, said the markets' shock reaction to his decision to remove Nhlanhla Nene as finance minister had been an exaggeration.
