How to take 9 days leave in 2016 to be away from work for 25 days

Update: you can now get 5 more days off with two days leave

The municipal elections take place on Wednesday 3 August and as a result the day has been officially declared a public holiday.

Should you request the 4th and 5th as leave you will enjoy 5 days away from the office.

While not great news for employers, 2016 has been a good year for making the most of your leave.

Taking nine days this year would see you being out of the office for 25 days.

Below are the options from earlier this year.

Human Rights Day and Easter

Human Rights Day is on 21 March which is a Monday, while Easter this year sees Good Friday on the 25th of March.

By taking leave for the 22, 23, and 24th of March you will be out of the office from Sat the 19th to Tuesday the 29th - 10 days.

Taking three days leave gets you 10 days away from the office in March.

Freedom Day and Workers Day

Selecting four days in this period will allow you to make the most of your Freedom and Workers day.

Freedom Day is 27 April which this year is a Wednesday, while Workers Day on the 1st of May is a Sunday.

If you take leave for the 25th, 26th, 28th and 29th of April (4 days) you will be out of the office from Saturday the 23rd of April to Tuesday the 3rd of May - 10 days.
