How the National Health Insurance scheme will work

Introducing the National Health Insurance scheme in its current white paper form could be unconstitutional, says a health lawyer.

Neil Kirby, speaking to Stephen Grootes on the Midday Report on Thursday, said this is because the NHI's proposed implementation would force citizens to join the scheme whether they wanted to or not.

Meanwhile, Grootes also spoke to Health Minister Dr Aaron Motsoaledi to clarify how the system would work.
