Four young boys from the SA College School (SACS) created a project called "67 Kids to School" to help less fortunate learners prepare for the school year.
The aim was to sponsor 67 pupils in poorer communities with basic necessities such as uniform and stationery.
Grade 12 pupils Benjamin Defty and Matthew Begg explained that the initiative was inspired by Nelson Mandela Day.
The group of boys far exceeded their initial goal to raise R12 500 and collected an impressive total of R44 000 in three months.
