No permanent CEO at Bara, but service not being compromised, says official

The Chris Hani Baragwanath hospital has reportedly been without a permanent Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for nine months.

Steve Mabona, spokesperson for Gauteng MEC for Health, says the acting CEO has been doing a fantastic job and that the CEO's position is not vacant.

He says that the CEO was needed temporarily at head office and as soon as he is done he will be going back to his position.

Currently the hospital is operating very well and as soon as the position is vacant we will then start with the process of advertising and filling the position permanently...

Mabona said that they are happy with the acting CEO and there are a lot of good things happening at the hospital.

Currently service delivery is not compromised at the facility ...
