'Poll is for students afraid to express their views'- Wits Deputy VC

University of the Witwatersrand is currently running a poll for students and staff to express their views on whether the university should reopen on Monday subject to appropriate security protocols in place.

Deputy Vice Chancellor Professor Tawana Kupe says the poll is meant to assess the views of those who have not been heard because they are afraid of being intimidated and threatened.

A poll for students is an SMS based poll, and via email for staff.

The poll was tested by the court yesterday, and declared it to be legitimate.
