Jody Bell is a hearing impaired student at Stellenbosch University. Throughout her schooling, Jody refused to let her disability hold her back.
She was born with a profound hearing loss and only received her first set of hearing aid when she was a year old.
Bell shared her story with CapeTalk’s Pippa Hudson about the work she is doing to create awareness around non-visible disabilities.
It affected me a lot and because my hearing loss is so profound sometimes the hearing aid did not work until I eventually got my cochlea implants— Jody Bell, Hearing impaired student
