Malema 'spot on' in pursuit of precedent over Nkandla, says McKaiser

Columnist and author Eusebius McKaiser says the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) want to draw out the Nkandla spending debacle to place political pressure on President Jacob Zuma.

According to McKaiser, EFF leader Julius Malema is justified in his pursuit of a legal precedent to be set by the Constitutional Court on the powers of the Public Protector's office.

McKaiser unpacked what he believes is the strategic intent behind Zuma's recent proposal to pay back a portion of the money spent on his homestead.
