Brownies and Downies, ‘utterly inappropriate’

The name ‘Brownies and Downies’ sparked a conversation on The John Maytham show on Monday with some listeners objecting to the name saying it is ‘utterly inappropriate’.

‘Brownies and Downies’ café is a training centre for challenged individuals which was recently opened on Long Street.

The Manager, Wade Schultz confirmed that they've had questions around the name of the café before.

From the inception of the idea we had mixed responses a lot of which were positive and some like your listeners raised.
