Composers, Authors and Publishers Association (Capasso) claims MTN owes songwriters at least R1 million in unpaid royalties for 2014.
The non-profit organisation has issued the mobile network with a ‘take-down’ notice to remove music from all its platforms.
Capasso CEO Nothando Migogo on Thursday said the R1 million represents only a portion of the full amount due to artists, because of outstanding sales reports.
