Multi-million Rand Better Living Model Exemplar Project is underway in the WC

The 22 hectare former Conradie Hospital site has been identified for the development of an integrated, sustainable, and affordable residentially-led, mixed-use neighbourhood.

This is part of the Western Cape’s Government’s game-changing Better Living Model Exemplar Project (BLMEP) which was revealed on Monday by Minister of Transport and Public Works, Donald Grant and Bonginkosi Madikizela, Minister of Human Settlements.

The project was first announced by Western Cape Premier Helen Zille in her State of the Province Address.

According to Grant there’s going to be ‘expression of interest’ on the 25th of February at the CTICC. He says that they are looking at appointing a developer by the end of the year and start breaking ground by early 2018.

He also said that the development includes about 3000 living units and 10 000 square meters of retail space and others.
