The South African Communist Party (SACP) has publicly announced its support for Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan and says political squabbles must be put aside for the sake of the country’s economy.
This comes after Hawks commissioner Tom Moyane revealed an investigation into Gordhan's alleged involvement with a suspected rogue spy unit at the South African Revenue Service (Sars).
The SACP's Jeremy Cronin on Monday explained that any attack against South African institutions, such as Sars and Treasury, could threaten the economy.
