Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi demands health officials at all hospitals across South Africa urgently notify the department of any mistakes that could cause harm to patients, to avoid litigation and compensate families.
Two mothers will separately sue the Department of Health after giving birth to babies with cerebral palsy due to alleged medical negligence at the Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital.
According to EWN's Masego Rahlaga, Motsoaledi said there has been a high increase in law suits at the department related to medical negligence and malpractice.
