Government has confirmed that the drought has cost South Africa's agricultural sector a staggering R16 billion.
Small Business Development Minister Lindiwe Zulu said that Agriculture Minister Senzeni Zokwana outlined government's plan to alleviate the economic effects of the debilitating drought.
Zokwana's office, along with the Water Affairs and Environmental Affairs departments, plans to find solutions for rising food prices and the ongoing loss of livestock and crops on farms.
