The 'Verwoerd who toyi-toyied': Our next Friday Stand-In

Long-time friend, political journalist and author Allister Sparks describes Melanie Verwoerd as 'very articulate, clear and doesn't get lost in complexities'.

She is also well-known for being the 'Verwoerd who toyi-toyied' - which is also the title of her first book.

Melanie has a long history in politics, diplomacy and global work in non-profit organisations. She was elected as a Member of the South African Parliament for the ANC in 1984, the youngest woman ever to be elected at the time. She was re-elected in 1999. In 2001, she was appointed as South African Ambassador to Ireland.

Find out more about Melanie Verwoerd below:

Tune in to the #FridayStandIn on Friday, 18 March 2016 from 9am - 12pm.
