The Helen Suzman Foundation have lodged an application with the Pretoria High Court calling for the immediate suspension of Hawks boss, Lieutenant-General Berning Ntlemeza.
The Foundation dows not believe the Hawks boss has the integrity required to lead this important anti-corruption unit.
Foundation Director, Francis Antonie says the second part of their application is to review Police Minister Nathi Nhleko's decision to appoint Ntlemeza. The Foundation believe the appointment was unlawful.
One judge has found General Ntlemeza is dishonest, lacks integrity and lied under oath. How can we have a man like that running the most important corruption fighting unit in the country.— Francis Antonie, Director of The Helen Suzman Foundation
