The proposed amendments to the Unemployment Insurance Fund Amendment Bill have received the support of some trade unions.
The Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) Amendment Bill which is currently before Parliament's Labour Portfolio Committee is set to improve service delivery of the UIF.
The proposed bill would see the adjustment of a contributor’s entitlement to benefits and extend the unemployment insurance benefits to benefit employees.
Department of Labour UIF Commissioner Boas Serume spoke to #NightTalk's Gugs Mhlungu and Sizwe Dhlomo about how the proposed amendments in the bill will impact on contributors and employees.
