In an effort to commemorate the history of South Africa, Tourism Minister Derek Hanekom has led students on a visit to Soweto.
To mark Human Rights Day, Hanekom assembled a group of youth to discover some of the iconic sights which represent the apartheid struggle and fight for human dignity.
We are at Freedom Square in Kliptown and the guide is walking the kids through our history. The learners are experiencing a connection and are being walked through the Freedom Charter.— Derek Hanekom, Minister of Tourism
