A new smartphone will make its debut in the LTE market and it's being produced right here in South Africa.
The device is being developed by the Sekoko Group and founder Dr. Tim Tebeila says the phone models will be produced with 2G, 3G and 4G mobile internet networks.
According to Tebeila, the components of the device will be imported from other parts of the world but will be manufactured locally, creating jobs.
Tebeila says the smartphone is set to grow in popularity and will be characterised by its reliability rather than its price.
Going forward, the price will be determined by demand... We have all the features you can think of that Samsung and Apple have. It's just a matter of the brand name.— Dr. Tim Tebeila, Sekoko Group founder
