Everything you need to know about the Rand Easter Show

CEO of Johannesburg Expo Centre, Craig Newman gives all the details you need about this year's Rand Easter Show. The show has been around for 123 years and spans 10 days.

Craig says the weather today could not be better, and there is already a fantastic buzz at the showgrounds.

He explains how they keep this long standing show current and fresh.

We place a lot of emphasis on research of the Rand Easter Show every year, and our entertainment and themes are always driven by this research. This year the entertainment and theme is 'Edutainment'. From toddlers to teenagers, to parents and grandparents, there is a lot of something for everyone.

Craig says this opening weekend highlight is the spectacular show of capability by the SANDF, simulating a battle situation. The display will showcase Hawk & Gripen aircraft fighters and other sophisticated machines from our military arsenal.

Other highlights are the SA's Strongest Man Competition, My Talent and Miss Rand Show.

A feature of the Edutainment theme is a bevy of fun scientists - the Naked Scientist, the Kalahari Scientist and the Nutty Scientist. They make science and technology accessible and fun for all.
