Level 1 status company has tips on embracing BBBEE in the business environment

Having a Level 1 Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) status is a position that many businesses aspire to and which Pragma has achieved.

But besides the impressive scorecard, Partner Consultant Gerrie Olivier says their asset management company has adopted the value of embracing diversity.

Olivier explained the importance of a level 1 BBBEE certification from both a business perspective and as an intrinsic part of transformation.

We've managed to transform the thinking, the way that we do business, the way we appoint service providers and our training.

To achieve real empowerment, Olivier says the company has established an employee share trust which owns 25.1% of the business.
