Authorities are investigating the motives behind the hijacking of an Egypt Air plane on Tuesday morning.
The Cypriot Foreign Ministry have identified the hijacker as Seif El Din Mustafa.
The hijacked passenger airliner had over 60 passengers on board and landed at Larnaca airport in Cyprus.
According to EWN's Paula Slier, reports suggest that the hijacking was personally motivated.
It seems as if it was a personal motivation rather than him belonging to any terrorist group or act. He has an ex-wife who lives in Cyprus and eyewitnesses say he threw a letter outside the plane and later asked for that letter to be given to his ex-wife.— Paula Slier, EWN Middle East Correspondent
