Democratic Alliance (DA) leader Mmusi Maimane says the judgement handed down over the Nkandla spending debacle is a significant ruling for South Africans.
In the Constitutional Court, Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng ruled that President Jacob Zuma failed to uphold, defend and respect the Constitution and ordered Zuma to to pay back the money.
The DA has filed an application to have Zuma impeached and need 66% of National Assembly members to vote in a motion of no confidence.
Maimane says the opposition party has always maintained that Zuma acted unlawfully and is unfit to lead the country.
