EWN reporter Shamiela Fisher was in Wynberg Magistrate's court this morning. She says family supporters gathered in their numbers, though no family members were there.
The bail application set down for today was postponed.
Three of the accused have indicated they will only go ahead with their bail application when the DNA results have been released and made available to court. The case has therefor been postponed to 28 April.— Shamiela Fisher, EWN Reporter
Fisher says normally DNA can take weeks, even months to be processed.
Accused Number. 3 has abandoned his bail application at this time. it's unclear at this point why he has decided to do this.— Shamiela Fisher, EWN Reporter
The four men have not yet been asked to plead which is why no names are able to be released yet.
Fisher says community members at court expressed outrage that bail is even being considered. She says there were rumours at court that community members may take the law into their own hands and harm the men should they be released back into the community.
The four will remain in Pollsmoor Prison.
