Jacob Zuma, step down! - Cheryl Carolus (Former ANC Deputy Secretary General)

The Money Show’s Bruce Whitfield interviewed Former ANC Deputy Secretary General Cheryl Carolus.

Carolus was part of the ANC election team that prepared the organisation to fight the first democratic election.

She led the consultative process to develop policy for a post-apartheid South Africa.

Today she calls for President Jacob Zuma to step down after last week’s Constitutional Court ruling with a grouping of civil society leaders.

Scroll down for quotes from the audio below.

I’m a very loyal ANC person; I’m not disgruntled.

Cheryl Carolus

We have gone beyond what we should be tolerating!

Cheryl Carolus

The issues around the rape trial; that it was poor judgement not using a condom. Is this really someone who should be leading our country?

Cheryl Carolus

We should not default to such undignified behaviour.

Cheryl Carolus

The ANC has to take responsibility! This happened on our watch!

Cheryl Carolus

For the sake of the ANC and the country, we have to take a stand against this man’s behaviour.

Cheryl Carolus

I’m filled with a deep sense of gratitude towards the Constitutional Court.

Cheryl Carolus

Can I really vote for my organisation with this person at the helm?

Cheryl Carolus

What our president has done over many years is wrong.

Cheryl Carolus

Most people in the ANC are decent and hardworking.

Cheryl Carolus

I am beholden to the ANC!

Cheryl Carolus

I don’t want to make decisions based on fears of the Opposition!

Cheryl Carolus

Having sex with a child that grew up in front of him was supposedly an error of judgement! His friendship with various people who have gone to jail was an error of judgement! Now Nkandla is an error of judgement!

Cheryl Carolus

Let’s get some integrity back into the game!

Cheryl Carolus
