Last yesterday afternoon, we applied for an urgent application at the Labour Court for the strike to be interdicted, and we were granted that interdict at around 9 last night. So the strike has been declared illegal and unprotected.— Richard Walker, regional manager at Metrorail
Walker says they have communicated the result to all staff and have placed notices up at all depots. He says trains are running as normal.

He says there will be a 60 minutes delay on the northern corridor line, but that is due to technical issues that are being attended to.
There's no impact of the strike. Staff have reported on duty. And obviosuly anybody who stays away from work under the guise of a strike, it would be an illegal action, and the company would have recourse to take action against those employees.— Richard Walker, regional manager at Metrorail
