'The Gupta influence politically, is done' says analyst

If I was in the same position as they are in, I certainly would have to consider relocating to another place...it is a rational, logical step.

Prof. Lesiba Teffo, Political Analyst, Unisa

Professor Teffo says our system of the rule of law will ensure the Gupta's assets are not confiscated.

There assets will be protected effectively, directly or indirectly. They still have a very strong network and it will have an influence, less so in politics, but economically they still have a strong network and can run their affairs.

Prof. Lesiba Teffo, Political Analyst, Unisa

It is done. I think the Gupta's influence politically is done. Neither can the president himself allow them to have a bearing on him, when he himself is an endangered species. I think very few would deny the fact that he has had so many lives in terms of survival, but this one, it does not look like he is going to survive it.
