Amid the fragmented state of the metred taxi industry, Guateng-based Zebra Cabs has chosen to join forces with competitor Uber.
The cab company will allow its drivers to work for both their service and the online ride-hailing service.
Head of Zebra Cabs, Ana Bonanni says they want to invest in the access to multiple booking systems.

Bonanni has praised Uber for awakening the local cab industry with its business model.
She says it is important for established cab operators to become technologically relevant and provide additional earning opportunities.
