Pick n Pay management has apologised to the elderly woman who was apparently harassed by staff over a chocolate broken in its wrapper by her grandson at the weekend.
Pick n Pay has met with the Mitchells Plain grandmother, and the retailer says it regrets the way the situation was dealt with.

Pick n Pay Customer Director Jonathan Ackerman says the matter could have been handled better by the store and its manager.
Ackerman says that management visited the grandmother at her home on Monday.
The retailer has offered the grandmother and grandson counselling following the traumatic incident.
