Cape’s people with disabilities to stage a legal march to Mayor’s office

The disabled people of Cape Town under the Dial-A-Ride User Forum will be staging a march on Thursday to The Mayor of Cape Town office’s to lay complaints over lack of transport in the city.

The Dial-A-Ride User Forum represents the community of people with disabilities in making sure their rights are protected.

Shirlene Jonker, Spokesperson for Dial a Ride User Forum says their main concern is the reduction of amount of buses that transport people with disabilities.

She says they started with 44 buses and now they have been reduced to 20 and the demand is growing.

People are spending long hours on the buses, there are many people who are still on the waiting list for five years now and there is simply no improvements.
