A Cape Town man was robbed and thrown out of a moving train last Monday while trying to defend a pregnant woman who was being robbed.
Twenty seven year old Darryn August is said to be in a stable condition, although doctors are not sure if he will walk again.
August sustained a spinal fracture and punctured lungs when he was attacked by nine men while on his way to work.

CapeTalk's Pippa Hudson spoke to Darryn's brother Bernard August to find out how Darryn was recovering after he underwent surgery yesterday. Bernard says that the surgery was successful, and doctors managed to put in a metal plate in his spine.
Although he is in a lot of pain,his brother says he is making progress.
