It is reported that the City’s Human Settlements Department has yet to spend R430 million of its budget.
According to Benedicta Van Minnen, MAYCO member for Housing, these reports are not true. She says the entire capital budget for Human Settlement is R430 million.

She says the department is working on spending the budget as soon as possible, before the end of the financial year.
She further said that some of there are issues in Human Settlements which led to the budget not being spent which are beyond their control.
Van Minnen explained some of the challenges they are facing as a department, which makes it difficult to complete projects.
