Jody lost her sight while in high school and she opted to continue with her studies. She is now doing her matric at Fairmount High in Parkwood.
She speaks to Pippa Hudson about how she has managed to adapt in a mainstream school that has no facilities for blind people.

According to Jody while in Grade 11 doctors told her that the tumour had returned, and it was double the size of the first one. She went through a ten hour surgery again to have it removed.
Upon hearing Jody’s story, Lions Club of Bergvliet decided to buy her assistive devices to help her with her school work.
A computer with speech software and scanner was bought for Jody to make her life easier.
