Today's Big Stories, The Friday Stand-In 2016

#FridayStandIn heats up with Prof Richard Calland at the helm

Political commentator and legal expert Professor Richard Calland left quite the impression after his intriguing show as the Friday Stand In.

Standing in for host Redi Tlhabi, he began the show with an open line discussion on an array of topics, including Parliament, the retirement of Deputy Chief Justice Dikgang Moseneke and a possible referendum for President Jacob Zuma.

He also spoke with authors Marianne Thamm and Ron Irwin about writing books and the process of putting pen to paper.

But the highlight of the show must be when Richard led a highly engaging debate following a heated discussion about coalition politics with DA mayoral candidate Herman Mashaba.
