The son of former South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) board member Hope Zinde has been formally charged with her murder.
EWN's Thando Kubheka reports that Mark Zinde appeared "dazed and confused" during his first court appearance at the Brits Magistrate Court.
The prosecution has proposed that the accused undergo psychiatric evaluation while investigations continue.
His mother's body was found in the boot of her car at the Pecanwood Estate in Hartbeespoort Dam at the weekend.
According to Kubheka, no family members where present during the brief court appearance.
Court proceedings will resume on Friday 17 June and the case will be moved to the Brits Regional Court.
