Thoko Didiza takes to the streets of Tshwane

Tshwane ANC's contentious mayoral candidate Thoko Didiza has made her first public appearance out in the capital, following the announcement of her nomination.

Since the news broke on Sunday, Tshwane has been the site of violent political protest, looting and arson attacks.

Didiza briefly interacted with members of the public in the CBD, EWN's Thando Kubheka reports.

Didiza spoke with commuters and taxi operators at the central taxi rank who welcomed her, despite the outrage over her nomination.

They say they were happy to see her and tell her their problems...They hope that she will bring some kind of change.
