200 Young South Africans to look out for in 2016

Of 1 100 nominations received in 2016, the Mail and Guardian have today announced the 200 Young South Africans for 2016.

Sipho Hlongwane, the Special Projects Editor M&G, Journalist and award-winning columnist, discusses the Mail and Guardian's 200 Young South Africans with Tessa van Staden (standing in for Pippa Hudson).

This year includes a "Rising Star" category. This is a nod to those South Africans that are under the age of 18.

Lead SA youth hero Rajveer Jolly is among the 200.

We've tended to have an 18-25 year cut off simply so that the title 200 Young South Africans can be true, but this has been unfair to young people...just because you're under the age of 18 doesn't mean you're not doing amazing things.

Sipho Hlongwane, Special Projects Editor

Every single person in this list is an amazing person.
