Man caught with R50m worth of gold in Springs

The Hawks in the North West have arrested a 31-year-old man with unwrought gold worth R50 Million.

The unwrought gold was concealed in the engine compartment of his car.

Tlangelani Rikhotso, North West Hawks spokesperson, says the suspect was arrested on Monday evening in Springs, after Hawks members received information of a vehicle which was being used to smuggle gold from the North West to Gauteng.
