CapeTalk's Mike Wills (standing in for John Maytham) speaks to Elias Mambo Investigative Journalist From The Zimbabwe Independent talks about the growing calls for a mass stay-away tomorrow.

We are in Zimbabwe, and I can tell you it is on the verge of collapse, because of the ongoing protests yesterday.

Elias Mambo Investigative Journalist , Zimbabwe Independent

He says there were running clashes between police and mini bus operators yesterday, and today has been tense.

Tomorrow, we are getting ready for the big one, which will be known as Shutdown Zimbabwe, where all the civil servants will engage in industrial action.

Elias Mambo Investigative Journalist , Zimbabwe Independent

Mambo says it is believed tomorrow will be a successful stay away.

He says the protests at Beit Bridge were triggered by the banning of imports from South Africa by Zimbabwe government.

More and more Zimbabweans are involved in informal trading, and were buying these goods from South Africa, he says.
