Lobby group sets Monday deadline for Icasa to announce ruling on SABC

Lobby group Media Monitoring Africa (MMA) has yet to receive a response from the communications regulator Icasa regarding their complaint about the SABC.

On Thursday, Icasa was expected to rule on the SABC's broadcast ban of violent protest footage, which many critics have seen as censorship.

MMA's William Bird says their legal team has sent a letter to the regulator, as there has been no explanation for the delay.

'We've given them until Monday to come back to us.

He says that Icasa's complaints committee had delivered its verdict to the council, however the council has not publicised the decision.
