Man shot at CT petrol station was armed, out on bail for murder

Toufeeq Joseph (23) who was shot dead outside a Gardens filling station in Cape Town on Saturday was out on bail for murder at the time of his death, the Cape Town Magistrates Court heard on Tuesday.

The court also heard that police found four knives in the car of the deceased, one of which had blood on it.

Murder accused David Forbes told the court he had a 14 centimetre cut on his right arm and that he had acted in self-defence.
