Richard Stirton voted No.1 of The Voice globally

A panel chose the top 23 winners of The Voice internationally. And SA The Voice winner, Richard Stirton made it to No.1. He says he heard the news on Monday.

Stinton chats to Kieno Kammies about his life after winning The Voice, a globally franchised singing talent show.

Stinton says his life has changed drastically.

"I woke up the morning after the final, and I didn't know if I was ready for it. In the competition you are in a bubble."

He says he has had to get used to being in the limelight. But after that he says he just wanted to get back to making music.

"We got straight into that. We had three days to get a single together and record it."

He says he has a lighthearted attitude to life, but when it's time to do the work he knuckles down, especially when it is the music he is so passionate about.
