Tevin Campbell's in CT and ready to unleash his old-school R 'n B

Capetonians need to prepare themselves for a night of classic hits and nostalgia as old-school R'n B singer Tevin Campbell gets ready to perform on Friday.

The 90's music icon is in town to perform his latest offering, _The Return of Tevin Campbell, _and promote his new single Safer on the Ground.

He says that his new sound is an evolution of his classic and highly popular soulful music.

The album will be done in three months. Safer on the Ground is a great song and reminds me of Tell Me What you want to Do.

Campbell was last in the country in 2013, and says that South African fans have shown overwhelming support for him every time he's on tour.

The star, who was once Quincy Jones' prodigy, relived some his best and worst career milestones, including performing on Broadway and becoming an independent artist.

I fell in love with live theatre. I found out that there are other things I could do with my talent, other than making records.

But I'm an independent artist now, I can make my own freedom and leisure.
