Musical comedy I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change is opening on Friday 22 July in Cape Town, and runs until 6 August 2016.
The production is made up of a series of vignettes that take a close and hilarious look at love and relationships. Its versatile cast of four portray 52 different characters, complete with over 30 wardrobe and wigs changes.
Writer Joe DiPietro says the play is about the ridiculousness of relationships and people will recognise themselves in many of the characters and situations.
I try to write what I feel and what i know and put them into a show. The gift that writing has given me is that we are all the same inside.
— Joe DiPietro, Writer
I try to write different types of characters... and I find that people can relate to it
— Joe DiPietro, Writer
The play is performed by talented and proudly South African actors, Neels Clasen, Claire Taylor, Brandon Lindsay and Taryn-Lee Hudson. DiPietro believes the cast will do magic to a play he has proudly penned.
