South Africans Doing Great Things: Edward Ndopu

Namibian-born Edward Ndopu is the co-founder of Evolve Initiative who was diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy at the age of two. Doctors had predicted that he wouldn’t live beyond the age of five.

Evolve Initiative is a daring social venture start-up that seeks to engage, connect, and mobilise world leaders on disability justice and intersectional policy solutions; and kick-start a new global culture that recognises the full humanity of people living with disabilities.

Pacific Standard Magazine recently named him one of the World’s 30 Top Thinkers Under 30 for 2016.

Ndopu has recently been named one of the World’s Top 30 Thinkers Under 30 for 2016. He spoke to NightTalk's Gugs Mhlungu and Wasanga Mehana about the Evolve Initiative, growing up with spinal muscular atrophy and her part in making a difference to those disabilities.
