Smooth running elections across the Mother City

So far no serious incidences have been reported in the Westlake area. The polling stations opened on time and people came in their number to vote.

According to Eye Witness News reporter Natalie Malgas the queues in Vrygrond have been shorter than other voting stations in the Westlake area. She says the mood is very jovial as voters sing and dance just outside the voting station.

They want the different parties to address the issue of drugs and crime in the area. they also want a mobile police station and a clinic

John Maytham also spoke to EWN's Ilze-Mari le Roux who was observing the situation in Somerset West. She visited polling stations in Nomzamo, Sir Lowry's Pass village and Grabouw and says its been peaceful throughout the day.

They all told me that less than 50% of registered voters have been in process
